15 discounts especially for seniors

“The great thing about getting older is that you don’t lose all the other ages you’ve been.”
-Madeleine L’Engle

The old adage “age is just a number” certainly holds true in most cases, except when it comes to claiming discounts! Senior citizen discounts are one of the few perks that come with getting older, but many of them are not advertised to the public. You might be amazed at how many discounts are out there for the taking – and that’s exactly why you should seriously consider cashing in today!

Did you know that you can often get discounts just by asking for them? It’s truly as simple as that. To make things easier for you, here is a list of 15 discounts seniors get only if they know to ask about them in 2019

1. Negotiate A Better Mortgage Rate With Lenders

You’ve worked hard to become a homeowner and are likely enjoying the fruits of your labor. We strongly believe that hard-working people should retain as much of the money as they possibly can, and that is exactly why refinancing your mortgage with an FHA loan might be the next best step towards improving your financial health.

Refinancing your home can prove a savvy financial move: not only could doing so lower your interest rate and help you build equity faster, but it could potentially also reduce your out-of-pocket expenses. The requirements are surprisingly simple and straightforward: provided you’re current on your mortgage payments and have little to no equity in your home, this program can help you refinance your current loan at a much lower rate.

If you’re a first-time buyer or currently in a place where you are able to buy a home but want to save money, then you may want to consider an FHA loan. Last year, roughly 82% of FHA mortgages went to first-time home buyers: with the cost of housing skyrocketing in many cities, these fixed-rate loans not only encourage homeownership but also provide a great solution for those who are struggling to secure a conventional mortgage.

2. Save Up To 40% On Your Car Insurance

Insurance premiums have skyrocketed in recent years, and car insurance is still more expensive than it was in the past – some people have even avoided buying car insurance altogether because it’s too expensive! Needless to say, such behavior could potentially have terrible repercussions and lead to a quick trip to the county jail.

Fortunately, there is a solution, and we can help you save you time finding the most affordable deals. This Insurance Quiz can help you find the cheapest rates on car insurance – you may be eligible for very low monthly rates

3. Save On Medical Costs

Although Medicare has made a significant contribution to the lives of its beneficiaries, it does come with out-of-pocket costs such as deductibles and coinsurance which can prove expensive. If you’re worried about paying your bills and out-of-pocket costs, you may want to look into Medicare-related insurance products.

If you are already familiar with Medicare, you will know that Medicare doesn’t cover everything. To protect against huge bills for health costs, Medigap and Medicare Supplemental plans can help fill the coverage gaps left by your Medicare plan.

Many seniors may be able to get extra benefits and don’t even know they’re available. You can also check if you are eligible to get vision, dental, hearing or prescription drug coverage included in your plan.

4. Install A Home Security System for VERY little money

More than 2 million burglaries are reported each year in the U.S alone – that’s over 15 burglaries per second! The National Council for Home Safety and Security has stated that homes without alarms are three times as likely to get burglarized.

In light of this shocking statistic, we would like to remind you that you can never be too cautious when it comes to protecting your home. You can now choose to keep your home and family safe with a free* ADT home security system from SafeStreets valued at $850 – the only thing you have to pay for is a one-time installation fee of only $99 and a new monitoring agreement. Now that’s a bargain!

6. Save on Life Insurance

As a parent, you want to protect your family and keep them safe. While it might be uncomfortable to reflect on life’s many uncertainties, a life insurance policy helps ensure you can protect your loved ones no matter what happens. Some insurance companies, however, saddle consumers with policies that come with outrageous terms and conditions while providing precious little coverage.

Life Insurance.net, however, is in a league of its own and remains committed to helping you find the best possible life insurance rates and terms available. The plans offer coverage from as little as $5K up to $1M, and it gets even better: Lifeinsurance.net offer plans which require no mandatory medical check-up, and customers are even offered a 30-day money-back guarantee. It doesn’t get better than that.

7. Consolidate All Your Existing Debt Into One Simple Payment

Getting into debt is easy, but trying to get out of debt is the hard part. Due to the high interest rates on most credit cards, even the smallest of debts can quickly spiral out of control and take years to pay off. Debt can even accumulate through unforeseen medical bills or student loans. Fast-forward a few years and more than half of your wages go towards paying off a debt that was accrued years ago.

That’s where Accredited Debt Relief comes in. If you owe $10K or more, ADR – which is accredited by both the BBB and AFCC – offers multiple debt relief programs with no advanced fees and can even help you resolve debt in as little as 1-4 years – that’s only 12-48 months!

ADR will act as a mediator and work together with you and your creditor in order to find a solution to the dispute. You can get the best quote to consolidate all your unsecured debt. With ADR’s help, you can save money, finally be debt free, and live a life of your choice.

8. Make Your Bathroom Safer WIth a Walk-in Tub – Savings Available

The bathroom is the most dangerous room in your home. As you get older, you might struggle with balance or mobility issues. You might even be afraid of falling in the shower or bath – and for good reason, as more than a third of injuries happen while bathing or showering. For seniors, a fall in the bathroom can be devastating, have long-term consequences, and may even lead to hospitalization.

Slippery bathroom surfaces are often responsible for these accidents, and while most of us have at least one experience with a slippery bathroom floor, it’s a demonstrable fact that the elderly are at a higher risk of sustaining injuries. In fact, the very fear of falling is a significant risk factor of its own!

A walk-in tub, however, can alleviate your fears, help you stay in your home for longer, and make bathing a more relaxing and stress-free experience. We believe that you owe yourself that much. Many Walk-in Tub manufacturers now offer discounts to seniors, so do yourself a favor and get a free quote on a Walk-in Tub by visiting this website. Just click on the button below!

If you’re worried about unexpected costs and would like to have more peace of mind, now might be a good time to consider extending your warranty. If your car breaks down, malfunctions or requires a replacement parts, Total Tech Auto Warranty can help you save vast amounts of money and enjoy huge savings. Purchasing extended auto coverage offers the same peace of mind as no-cost factory plan without the restrictions. You could enjoy huge savings on repair costs without the new car price tag.

10. Reverse Your Mortgage And Get Cash In Your Hand

To help you enjoy your retirement and achieve peace of mind, we’d like to help you figure out how to supplement your retirement income. One reason a senior home owner might want to look into a reverse mortgage is because they can turn a portion of the equity in your home into tax-free cash without having to make mortgage payments.

Usually, reverse mortgage loans don’t need to be repaid until the last borrower dies or moves out of their home. At that time, the estate has up to 6 months to pay off the reverse mortgage loan or sell the home in order to repay the outstanding sum. If you are over 61 years old, have a home with equity, and would like to live out your golden years in comfort, you should seriously consider a reverse mortgage.

The Advisors American Group can help you tap into home equity to help cover all your retirement needs and to turn into tax-free cash. Please consult your tax advisor for further information, and don’t forget to click on this link to get your Reverse Mortgage Info Kit

you don’t mention the great discounts many cities, and countries, give for seniors on public transportation. DC is an example–a Senior Smart Trip card is about half the price, and it works on buses and Metro trains, including trips to the airport And on AMTRAK–the discount on regular train fare is 15%

This site is a great discovery, I will start a list of these good suggestions. My problem is in finding a home. I am a 70 yr. old single homeless teacher. I never expected to be in this position in my life. I live near Portland, Oregon and this state has stopped helping anyone for anything. very sad for Oregonians.

This is the most fantastic thing I have seen on the net...! I have been trying to reach Seniors to tell them of all the things that are available to them for so long...! I can't believe I finally found a place to help Seniors protect themselves against high costs of living to long. I have forwarded your home page to our coordinator who will forward it to the over 300 members of our Senior Citizen Computer Club.

This is the most terrific web site I have seen in a long time. My husband and I are seniors ages 65 and 68. Just thought you would like to know you have another happy camper with you. We try to do our best with what we have. So we must look for lower pricing, in everything we do. We've been married for 47 years and we plan on going and going. Keep up the good work. You have a great following.

So, some people think I am an old fart and will give me a senior citizen discount. Other people think I am still young; to them I say thank you for the kind thought, but I’d rather get a senior citizen discount.
